Hydrotherm Full Body Massage
Hydrotherm, is a new dimension in the healing art of massage that is now available at Allure Clinic.
Hydrotherm 3 dimensional massage was the brainchild of British sports and remedial therapist John Holman. Two warm water cushions support every client in perfect spinal alignment and Hydrotherm is perfect for every phase of life too.
Expectant mums, baby massage, perfect for those who are physically active or who lead very busy lives and need time to relax away from everything. We have not forgotten those who are of a more mature age either as Hydrotherm can be experienced in your eighties, nineties and beyond. Hydrotherm Tranquil Sea is suitable for those who are undergoing treatment for cancer as well.
What is Hydrotherm?
Hydrotherm offers numerous benefits to both therapist and client as the entire treatment is carried out with the client lain only upon their backs! No uncomfortable face holes or cricked necks, no need to turn over during treatment either. Just lay there and relax as your therapist gives you one of the best massage experiences in the world today.
The Hydrotherm system uses warm water-filled pads on top of a regular therapy couch. Your entire massage is carried out while you are face-up, on your back. Your therapist will slide their hands between you and the pads to give you your massage.
Hydrotherm massage helps to:
- relieve stress on joints and muscles
- encourage swift recovery from muscle and joint pain or strain
- improve your sleep
Hydrotherm massage is very different to the usual kind of massage that you experience on a couch – so expect the unexpected. The massage can feel a little disconcerting as the water in the pads makes sloshing sounds, and your body shifts as your therapist moves your body against the pads. If you’ve ever sat on a water bed, the Hydrotherm pads feel a little like that – just relax and try not to fight the sensation.
Your body is directly against the plastic pads, so there’s also an initial odd feeling when you realise that you’re not lying on towels or a sheet.
However, as soon as your therapist begins your treatment, they will apply oil to your body, so very soon, you’ll move smoothly against the plastic.
Hydrotherm Full Body Massage
A Hydrotherm massage makes a good choice for anyone who can’t lie on their front, perhaps because of mobility problems or disabilities, or because of pregnancy. Indeed, Hydrotherm massage is good for anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable lying face-down on a massage couch.
Hydrotherm massage could also be an option for those who feel self-conscious turning over on a therapy couch mid-treatment.
The placement of the warm-water pads is designed to give your back perfect spinal alignment; your knees are slightly raised and your hands rest below the pads to encourage your body to relax.
Thanks to the heat from the pads (30-40°), a Hydrotherm massage can be beneficial if you suffer from neck pain, lower-back aches or stiff muscles. The heat helps warm your muscles up, which makes the therapist’s movements more effective.
Oh, and don’t worry – you won’t get wet; the water in the pads is thoroughly sealed in.
At the end of the treatment, your therapist will help you into a seated position so that you can swing your legs off the couch and get your feet onto the floor.
Hydrotherm can be a very soothing and deeply therapeutic form of massage. If you let yourself relax into the experience, you may find that you initially feel as though you are lying on the water, but end up feeling as though you have been lying in the water.
Try it for the first time at a cost of standard Full Body Massage, only £60.00.
HTC – Hydrotherm Tranquil Sea Massage
Safe, effective and nurturing massage for those with cancer. Experience the healing and restorative power of massage even during treatment. Hydrotherm Tranquil Sea massage has been especially designed to help reduce stress and anxiety.
Anyone who has been told they have a cancer will have experienced a substantial emotional shock which is likely to be followed by uncomfortable and even painful treatments, for those who experienced regular massage as part of their wellbeing had to be then told by their therapist that they are now unable to treat you any more or that you will have to wait 5 clear years to receive massage again must just add to a terrible time.
Industry pioneers John Holman, Kerry Prentice and Julie Speed decided to take a structured and scientific approach to changing the poorly understood science and to seek both peer review and then endorsement of their approach to massage and then to seek proper and appropriate insurance cover with none of the caveats or restrictions that exist with current providers.
The tranquil Sea massage was born!
Safe effective and nurturing massage for those with cancer at any stage of treatment.
Tranquil Sea massage uses the Hydrotherm 3 dimensional massage cushions where the client lies upon cushions of warm water to receive their treatment, the effect is almost instant as warm water supports and cocoons the body into relaxation.
Touch brings solace and relief from aches, pains and discomfort and allows the body to begin the process of healing and restoration.
Hydrotherm Pregnancy Massage
For thousands of years, pregnancy, labor and childbirth have been a female-centered and tactile experience. What are now considered routine aspects of pregnancy and labor were then potentially life-threatening and led to a gradual increase in a culture of medical management. This trend has been changing for some years with individuals and couples being actively encouraged to learn more about, and become involved in, the whole pregnancy and birthing experience.
The medical profession provides a valuable and indispensable framework for technical care. However, as Therapists, we can bring comfort and pleasure through touch.
Touch in its many forms brings solace, relief of aches, pain and stiffness, and gives emotional support and reassurance. With a knowledgeable and well-guided hand, massage during pregnancy adds to the enjoyment of the birthing experience. Hydrotherm™ offers a unique potential for comfort and in combination with better awareness of the physiological changes of pregnancy. Massage is sometimes listed as a contra-indication to pregnancy – but rarely with any justification. It is certainly important to consider treatment carefully, but correctly administered, massage is not only potentially free of risk – but also extremely beneficial!
